Profile Boundaries

The profile extends OLS core; it does not redefine every core entity. Keep reusable fields such as IDs, localized labels, references, and authority records in their core locations. Put EOTC-specific vocabulary and behavior under the eotc namespace or in profile-owned calendar, chant, and sacred-space definitions.

An EOTC-aware processor should validate at least:

  • Ge’ez transliteration metadata when gez-Latn is present.
  • Ethiopian calendar rules and deterministic feast conflicts.
  • Yaredic chant vocabulary and source metadata.
  • EOTC sacred-space zones and role access.
  • Review and permitted-use requirements for liturgical content.

Do not generalize an EOTC term or custom to every Oriental Orthodox church. Shared concepts belong in the Oriental Orthodox core only after their semantics are genuinely common.
